Mini Q&A with The Poll Mine Game Director Warren Arnold

Warren Arnold directed The Poll Mine, one of five games in The Jackbox Party Pack 8. To celebrate the launch of this game on October 14, we asked Warren to share a little insight behind-the-scenes.

Who was on this design team, and what were their roles in creating this game?

Alex Weick was the Producer and our design team was: Bruno Rodriguez (Lead Artist), Brian Chard (Audio Lead), C.J. Tuor (Editorial Lead), Farhan Noormohammed (Lead Gameplay Engineer), Ryan McGill (Lead Jackbox.tv Engineer) and Steve Pakal (QA Manager).

What was your favorite part of working on this game?

Because this game is all about having strong opinions about stupid answers, my favorite part was definitely play testing. We tried a handful of different rulesets before arriving at the current structure and it was a lot of fun to figure out what would be challenging while also keeping the fun of yelling “Who doesn’t want to grow antlers?”

What are you most excited about people experiencing?

The stupid conversations you’ll get drawn into. You’ll be surprised how much you care about ice cream flavors when there’s a monster behind a door.

Are there any behind-the-scenes production moments or funny screenshots you’d like to share?

Here’s a look at an early image Bruno came up with crazy fast. I remember seeing this image and feeling like we had the right tone immediately.
