Streaming, Moderation, and Accessibility Features in The Jackbox Party Pack 8
Here at Jackbox, we really strive to make our games as easy to play as possible. Beginning with the Jackbox controller, which can be accessed directly using your phone's browser without any apps or downloads required, we're always looking for ways to improve our ease of access for all players.
With every new game that we launch, making our games more user-friendly for a wide variety of players is at the forefront of our minds, and The Jackbox Party Pack 8 is no exception. Here's what's new, what's back, and what's improved:
Settings Menu
Have you ever found yourself overzealously cranking the volume up at the beginning of the game, only to find halfway through that you can't hear each other over the dulcet tones of the host's audio? You can now access the settings menu during gameplay. Note that some settings cannot be altered once the game has begun, such as player count as this would alter the gameplay of a game that is already in progress, but features such as settings, timers, tutorials, post-game sharing, and of course audio/visual settings can be changed up while a game is in progress.

A Note About Streaming on Twitch
We recognize that the internet can be a scary place. Streaming online can be a really fun and fulfilling way of sharing your interests with others, but we also recognize that the fun stops when the audience takes things too far. Many of our games include portions that involve User Generated Content (UGC). This means that participants in your game are able to write or draw things in order to participate in the game. Usually, this is fine, but if you're playing with strangers online, we recommend taking some precautions.
The following games support UGC that will show up on screen:
- Job Job
- Drawful: Animate
- Weapons Drawn
If you're unsure of your players, double check your game settings to make sure that you've enabled Family-Friendly filters, you've set the Profanity Filter, and if necessary give access to any moderators. We also recommend features such as Passworded game, Require Twitch, and Allow Room Code Hiding for extra protection when playing with friends you trust. We also generally recommend enabling extended timers to compensate for possible stream delays.
As always, stay safe and send your feedback to us over at help.jackboxgames.com!
