The Jackbox Games Guide to Virtual Happy Hours
One of the biggest struggles with working in an office environment is finding ways to break up the monotony of the nine-to-five grind. Sure, water cooler chats, after work happy hours, and fun team building activities are all good ways to keep employees happy and engaged... but what happens when everyone is working remotely? Here’s our basic guide to introducing Jackbox Games into your virtual happy hour or team building exercise.
To get started, you’re going to want to determine the size of your group. Most of our games support 1-8 players, however, many of our recent titles support audience play-along of up to 10,000 participants. This means that additional players can still vote along at Jackbox.tv to influence the outcome of the game. You can find more information about how many players can join each game by perusing our participant guide here.
We recommend breaking out into smaller groups so that more people can join together and play. Please keep in mind that only one instance of a game can be running at a time, so each group will need to have one copy of the game. Email us at business@jackboxgames.com to learn more about bulk purchasing.
Next, you’ll want to figure out how to get everyone involved. If your team is set up with a video conferencing service, you’re already a step ahead. Zoom, WebEx, Google Hangouts, Discord, and many other platforms that allow you to share your screen with others are perfect. Your participants will need to be able to see the host’s shared screen of the game. Everyone watching can answer along by navigating to Jackbox.tv on their mobile devices. Although everyone is having fun together, another factor to consider is adult content moderation. If you want to maintain professional decorum during your Jackbox remote happy hour, be sure to toggle on the Family-Friendly filter that is available in the settings menu for many of our titles.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, no virtual happy hour is complete without your favorite drinks and snacks.
And there you have it. The perfect way to punctuate a busy week with your remote team. Spice up your company's virtual happy hour or team building exercise with Jackbox Games and use the code HAPPYHOUR to get an additional 10% off Drawful 2 on our website to get things started!
