The Jackbox Party Pack 3 is Coming to Nintendo Switch™
We are excited to announce that we are bringing The Jackbox Party Pack 3 to Nintendo Switch™. There's obviously a lot we don't know yet, but I'll answer some of your questions -- both real, and imaginary -- right here.
When is the game coming out?
We don't have a release date yet, but we are planning to be in the launch window -- a purposefully vague term the game industry made up. As soon as we have an exact date, we will let everyone know.
Do players still use phones as controllers?
Yes! Just like on other platforms, you will use your phone or tablet as a controller to play the games by going to http://jackbox.tv.
Do you need an Internet connection to play?
Yes. Even though the Nintendo Switch is portable, you'll still need to be on WiFi to play The Jackbox Party Pack 3. Luckily lots of places have free WiFi these days -- bars, restaurants, coffee shops, schools, libraries, some fancy vans... my friend's kids' treehouse. In addition, if you find yourself wanting to play during a pickup basketball game or impromptu rooftop party, we've tested the game using a 4G phone as a wifi hotspot while still using that phone as a controller and everything runs fine. It doesn't even use that much data. (I wonder if it works on airplane WiFi. Hmm. Something to test.)
Are your other games coming to Nintendo Switch?
We gotta get The Jackbox Party Pack 3 out first, but we're not against the idea!
Can I have ice cream now?
Yes. Now you can have some ice cream.
